Waterford Scout County AGM
Waterford Scout County will hold their AGM for 2007 on Monday Night the 5th November at 7.30pm in the WYTEC Waterford City.

Cub Scout Pack - News & Information
Sheamie got this weeks meeting underway with the saying of the cub scout prayer. Then subs were taken up by Gearoid. After that we played a knockout game of North, South, East and West which was refereed by Michael. The last two left here were clan leader Darragh and Jordan Cliffe with Jordan coming out victorious. The clans were then paired off to play a game of "switch" with Gearoid joining in with the Tiger and Wolf clans and Seanie joining in with the Kestrel and Panther clans. This as always turned out to be a most enjoyable game for everyone concerned.It was then time for some badge work and on this weeks agenda was what the cubs would do in the case of an emergency, be it in the home or on the road. Some knew what numbers to call but Brendan and Gearoid went through the procedure and then answered any questions that the cubs had afterwards. A practical exercise then followed with the clan leaders being put into the situation of having to phone for the emergency services and ask for help for a casualty in a house, the casualty being Gearoid and give their details,name, address etc to the operator who was Michael. Despite giving various differences on Gearoid's age all his symptoms were similar. Well done lads.Then Gearoid reminded all the new cubs who had been in the troop longer than six weeks that they should have their uniform by now and those who are in the troop since before the summer should be wearing their uniform to all meetings unless told otherwise. The cubs were then given a notice to let them know about the county hike in Woodstown on Sunday Nov.4th. Any parents who can provide transport for this can call Gearoid or let him know this Thursday night. Sheamie then said the final prayer and everyone was dismissed.
Parents are asked to please note that the Cub Pack Meeting times are from 7:15pm to 8:45pm. In the interest of Safety Parents are asked to be waiting to collect Cubs after the meeting has ended, meetings may sometimes run a few minutes over. Leaders cannot be responsible for Cubs before or after meeting times. We thank you or your co-operation with this matter.
New members are always welcome so if there is anyone who may be interested in joining the Cubs have a Parent/Guardian call along with you to the meeting and talk to one of the Leaders. The Cub age is from 8 years to 10½ /11 years. Their meeting night will be on a Thursday night from seven fifteen to eight forty five. Waterford Scout County Cub Scout Hike – Woodstown Beach
On Sunday 4th November, 2007, the Cub Scout Pack will be taking part in the Waterford Scout County Cub Scout Hike at Woodstown Beach. Cubs are to arrive for 10:20 am, wearing their Abbeyside Neckerchief and are to be collected again at 15:00 pm. For the hike each Cub will need to have, Rain Gear, Packed Lunch, Change Of Footwear, Warm Jumper/Fleece. All gear and Bags should be clearly marked with the Cubs Name & Groups Name. Parents will be needed to provide transport for the Cubs to this event, anyone who is available if you could let Gearóid know at this weeks meeting please.

Scout Troop – News & Information
The meeting this week was back to Full Uniform, starting at the usual time of seven. The Scouts formed up into their Patrols for the saying of the Scout Prayer. The Scout Prayer being said as a few of the latecomers arrived. As Roll Call was being done by Brendan, Michael checked through the ‘Activity Consent Forms’, and Gearoid collected Annual Camp Deposits and Annual Registration. The Patrols were discussing their Activity for the Halloween Break and next months Indoor Cooking Competition.
The first order of the evening was to check out everyone’s Full Uniform and where their new Badges had been placed. There are a few changes to be made by some a lot of changes to be made by others, and then there are one or two who just need to put on the badges onto their Uniform as well as get the rest of their Uniform. All Scouts who are in the Troop longer than six weeks must have the Full Correct Uniform. White runners are not a part of the Scout Uniform.
A few games of Volleyball were then played with some changes being made after each game to try and even out the sides.
The ever popular ‘card’ game was played, but Tom had a little trouble finding the Ace. Then a challenge that Muller produced for the Scouts was handed out to each Patrol, this was most interesting and proved to be great fun.
All to soon it was time to finish up and some final notices were covered. The Patrols had decide to go bowling on Tuesday night as their Activity for Halloween.
Scouts are reminded that next weeks meeting is in Full Uniform with All badges in their correct places, and will start at Seven sharp.
If there is anyone who may be interested in joining the Scouts have an adult call along with you to the meeting and talk to one of the Leaders. The Scout age is from 10½ years to 15/16 years. Scout Meetings will still be on a Saturday night from seven to nine. Venture Scout Group – Information
There was no Venture Scout Group Meeting this week with the Bank Holiday. Ventures are back to normal this Saturday night at seven.

Full Uniform
Full Uniform is Black Polished Shoes/Boots, Navy/Black Socks, Uniform Trousers, Uniform Belt, Uniform Jumper (Cubs), Uniform Shirt (Scouts), Group Neckerchief, Woggle (Plus Spare), Lanyard (Scouts), Whistle (Scouts), Badges, Group Cap, Uniform Jacket (Scouts).

Any Scout or Cub in the Unit longer than six weeks should have this Uniform. Scouting Ireland is a Uniformed Organisation.

The Scout and Cub Scout Uniform are available from the Outdoor Adventure Store, Mc Curtain Street, Cork.

We carry some items such as Group Badge €3-50, Group Neckerchief €5-50, Woggle €1-50, and Group Baseball Cap €15-00. As well, as some other small items. Just ask the Leaders and they will help you out.

If there is anyone who has been in the Cubs or Scouts and wishes to pass on their Uniform in part or full contact one of the Leaders. Thank You.
