Parents/Guardians of Cubs and Scouts,

As the New Year begins Annual Registration is now due, this is payable by all members of the 4th Waterford youth and adult. The fee for this year 2007 is €38-00 per member. The Group Council send these fees along with the Annual Group Census details to National Headquarters of Scouting Ireland. Each member’s fee must be paid by the 20th January 2007. We thank you for your help in this matter.

Annual Camp is the highlight of the Scouting year and Annual Camp 2007 is fast approaching and planning is in an advanced stage. The venue for Annual Camp 2007 is Arklow Sea Scout Centre and the dates are from Sunday 22nd July 2007 to Sunday 29th July 2007. The cost so far is roughly €230-00 but we hope to decrease this depending on numbers. This is open to all Scouts and those Cubs who will be at least ten and a half before the dates of Annual Camp. A deposit is required to book a place before the end of January of €30-00 per Scout. This can be paid weekly before the end of the month and money can be paid of the cost of Annual Camp in the following weeks also. It may seem then a bit early to talk of Annual Camp 2008, which we are planning to be abroad, but Scouts must have attended an Irish Annual Camp before they can be allowed to attend a foreign one.

As part of our advanced planning for Annual Camp 2008 we took part in the ‘Twelve Days Of Christmas’ draw to start the fund going. This worked one a portion of the money collected goes to the individual who sold the tickets and the remainder to the Group for work in the Scout Den. Our next fundraiser is in March on the weekend of the 9th and 10th, we have booked bag packing in Dunnes Store. Again those who take part will be given a share of the funds collected, we need a large turn out from Parents to make this a success. We will work out a timetable at a parents meeting on January 27th @ 9.00pm if you are unable to attend please contact a Leader to say when or if you can help out.
