If there is anyone who may be interested in joining the Cubs have an adult call along with you to the meeting and talk to one of the Leaders. The Cub age is from 8 years to 10½ /11 years. The normal meeting is on a Saturday Night from seven to eight. All Cubs must wear their neckerchief for Uniform and Non-Uniform Meetings and Activities.
Cub Pack Meeting
As Cub Pack went into their Clan Formation, Ruari lead everyone in saying the Cub Scout Prayer. ‘Roll Call’ was done after which the Cubs went out to the field. Tonight the Cubs were going to do Athlete Challenge Badge. As always with the Cub Scout Motto being ‘Do Your Best’ each of the Cubs lined up to do the first Task, this was a fifty Metre sprint, points were awarded depending on the time on a scale of 5, 7, and 10. Next each Cub had to try the long jump, with the same points Scale used and thirdly Skipping was done for the last event a Team game was played and each Cub was awarded 7 points for taking part in this. All Cubs passed this Challenge Badge and the results were recorded, and badges will be presented as soon as we have them in stock along with the completed Artist Badge. Well done to all the Cubs.
All the Cubs were told about the Changes to the planned Waterford Scout County Fun Day. This will now take place on Sunday 13th May. The Venue is De La Salle Sports Field. The theme for the Abbeyside Cub Pack is ‘Wild West’ so get working on your costumes. Each Cub will need a Packed Lunch, Wet Gear, and of Course your ‘Wild West’ Costume. We will need parents to help with transport. Start time is 10.00am and we should be finished by 3.30pm. And of course each Cub must have their Neckerchief on them. We will be leaving the den at nine o’clock on Sunday morning. Any parent that is able to help out with transport if they let Gearoid or any of the other Leaders know at the meeting next Saturday night or contact him during the week. Thank You.
The Cub Scout Prayer was said by Ruari. The meeting ended with ‘Fall-Out’. There is a meeting next week usual time seven to eight.
